3 weeks ago is my last O-level paper. Yes. THE LAST O-LEVEL PAPER. Finally, this stupid ordeal has come to an end. Now I do not have to open my books and *cough*act*cough* study anymore. Yippie! I will just leave it to fate to decide my future. I hope to get markers which is not strict to mark all my papers so that I will get a nicer certificate =P I have a big problem currently which I do not have a clear answer even till now. How am I suppose to spend this holiday? I have around 3 months free (my results were nowhere near to get me into a junior college >.< ). I have planned to dive back into my pool of online games and forums, and join fan listing, update my website,... But now I cannot put my heart into doing them. My brother uses the computer for almost the whole day, which leave me only a little time to do all these at night. I can now either go on a course, find a temporary job, use my old computer, or just simply sleep. I will need to make up my mind as soon as possible and stop wasting my holidays.
There are 2 events which allow me to have a break from my boring life. I have to go back 2 days after my last O-level paper to collect my report book, the forms needed for those who wants to enter Junior College for the first three months, and testimonial. My testimonial is short, very short, so short that I think I have the shortest testimonial in the class with less than half a page long. I was talking with one of my friends on why we still need to go back to school in our school uniform. Can't they just simply mail us all the stuff, or at least let us go back in school in our home clothes since it's already school holiday. They should know that most of us (but not me) have hide the home clothes in the bags and will be going to other places after this, so why can't they loosen the rule and lets us wear home clothes? Secondly, I suppose the ministry of education should have enough money to mail us all the things needed. There is also not a need to waste everyone's time since only a few out of the cohort in our school are qualified to enter the junior college, and all the instructions to enter the junior college is stated in a booklet. So why can't they just mail them to us?
3 days after my O-level I have my... erm... Graduation Dinner. I go there alone wearing a beach colour shirt with black long pants. Some of my friends even wore a coat and a tie >.< And most of the girls there wore black dress. So if you take a good look at the ballroom you should be able to see almost everyone have something black in colour in their costume. I got 135 for my lucky draw number, all odd digits, and win nothing out of their 3 rounds of lucky draws. I will give the rating of the food that day a 4.5 out of 5 stars, but it is a pity that I ate only a single big plate. They even gave a small piggy-bank container as a present. (All this are as expected since I pay for it =P ) There is quite a number of competitions, some of them which I personally find it pretty stupid. I was SO lucky for not entering any of the competitions. There is a 2 hours long dance before the dinner end, and guess what I did: I watch people dance throughout the 2 hours. The only time I am of the seat for that 2 hours is when I make a trip to the washroom, and when I have some coffee. Guess I never obeyed their instructions to have fun. By the way, I brought my camera that day but it went out of battery. If you happen to know who I really am, and is present in the Graduation dinner, can you sent me some photos, Please? =D
Ok damn it I just realized that I have not update my web log for about a month. I was in the middle of quite a lot of stuff, mainly computer games and an essay. My laziness has caused me to take more than ten days to finish this entry >.< I tried to apply for a job which simply keys in computer data, but got rejected with the following reason: I am too young. Why can't they just relax the rules a little? After all it is only a little more than ten days to my birthday. Now I have one more reason to hate my birth date apart from being youngest in class (and a easier prey to bully).
Onto news. The latest will be the robbing of POSB bank. I was always under the impression that there will be a security guard on duty when the bank is open all the time; this incident had proved me wrong. This robber rob the bank when the security guard is not around. This is the third time in two months which a bank got robbed, with an attempt failed. POSB is a bank supported by government, and things like this can still happen. Can't the stupid government afford a security guard at every single bank? If they cannot even stop a robber armed with a knife, if they cannot stop a wholesale worker from leaving Singapore without a passport, how are they going to stop those terrorist? Quoted from a local newspaper: "The bank tellers are apparently specially trained to react to such situations by giving up some bundles of cash so that a robber will leave without harming customers." HAHA, why don't the bank open up another counter for robbers in the case? The recent robbing also shows the effect of economy downturn on us peasants. Bank robbing has not hit local newspapers for years, and there is more and more cases of robbing, stealing, etc. every year. People have to take other's assets illegally now to support their families or to pay of their debts. More of such cases will come if government do not do anything to help us but collect more taxes.
Another news: A Chinese teacher from china taught at a local secondary school for four and a half years with a fake degree. Her lie was exposed when she applied for permanent residence. She lost her job and was jailed for two weeks, together with a S$6000 fine. The interesting thing about this teacher is that those who the newspaper reported and knew her well were full of praise for her, including principal and her colleagues . It is right to punish her for lying having a bogus university degree, but such good teachers are hard to come by. She probably has been producing results since she is able to stay there for four and a half years. The ministry of education should have at least sent her back to obtain a degree, and invite her back into Singapore again to teach. This incident also reflects that one need not have a degree to prove that he/ she has substance. The ministry of education should stop measuring teachers ability according to what piece of qualification they produce. Having that stupid paper dose not mean that the teacher can teach, quality control is even more important.
Last piece of news: Anyone know that central is showing Japanese animation every Wednesday to Friday from 11pm? The first animation up will be The Twelve Kingdoms 十二国記 . This animation makes me go mad with the various chapters and and amount of characters involve. One good thing about The Twelve Kingdoms is the way they draw female character/ monsters =P The cartoon following up is Inuyasha 犬夜叉 the half-demon. I like the first opening of Inuyasha so much that I went to download the full version of it. Romaji Lyrics and English translation are as follow:
Inuyasha: Change the world. |

Romaji Lyrics I want to change the world hai-iro no sora no kanata nanika oite kita I want to change the world bokura wa onaji sekai wo oyogi-tsudzukete'ru I want to change the world I want to change the world |
English Translation I want to change the world You've left something in the far reaches of the grey sky, I want to change the world We keep swimming the same world I want to change the world I want to change the world |
